Experiences with Live Mesh

I have had some time to play around with Live Mesh. It is a great experience to be able to securely sync files between different machines. So far I have managed to replicate all of my music to my Media Center and in turn have my favorite music replicated to my laptop. Of course it takes a while when you have a lot of music but the sync experience is seamless. usually when I buy music I rip it on my Laptop and store it there. What will happen now is that it’s stored in a sync folder that automatically gets replicated to my Media Center and made available to play from there. Being a TDC customer (still) I have access to Play and this works the same way as I have authenticated my Media Center with Play too meaning all music can be played there too.

All I need now is the announced mobile integration that is somewhat available at m.mesh.com just without the client for mesh. I wonder what the plans are for skydrive…

Busknet.com live on Ubuntu 8.10 – or not….

As it was easy to install, get apache running and WordPress and its prereqs one thing is keeping me from having it live. This is nothing short of a disaster to me as it means that I have to manually touch the system to fix the IP after a reboot – which happens rather frequently at this point while still configuring the system. Once done this could work as I rarely reboot.

I will keep the box offline until I either find a way to import my previous posts to here or a fix is provided for this bug.

UPDATE: Laust pointed out that the bug I link to above is not the right one for which I apologize. The correct bug is here. There seems to be a workaround that I will try out as soon as possible. More to follow on this.
